As part of the research study of Neethi Vedhi regarding the Status of Paniya tribe in Wayanad district, a focus group discussion was conducted with PRI members and tribal promoters on 8th October 2026 at Neethi Vedhi office. Ms Flaisy Jose welcomed the participants. Dr Thomas Joseph introduced the context of the particular research study. Mr Biju Jose appraised the group regarding the process of the research study and the expectations from the participants. Fr Stephen Mathew facilitated the discussions. The participants responded to various issues related to the life of Paniya community, challenges in tribal education, tribal welfare schemes and issues related to reservations. 24 persons participated in the discussion.
